Here at THB hotels we are increasingly committed to promoting the sustainable development of our destinations. Saving water, energy efficiency, cutting down waste and recycling, protecting the autochthonous and endemic flora and fauna of our destinations, respecting the local culture and environment are the core values underlying our actions in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Our aim is to play an active, ongoing role in the fight against climate change, and undoubtedly the first step to achieving this is to inform and raise awareness not only among the THB hotels team, but also the guests that decide to spend their holidays with us.

In order to achieve this, we have launched a series of initiatives such as the new ECO Friendly Corners in our hotels.

The THB Tropical Island**** (Playa Blanca, Lanzarote) is the first hotel to feature this very special corner dedicated to raising environmental awareness. A space where both adults and children can discover how to save water and energy, and also learn about the importance of recycling and its positive impact on sustainability and the conservation of our planet.




A further object was to highlight the importance of caring for Lanzarote’s flora and fauna and the obligation to respect the environment.

We have also focused on the importance of supporting local culture. The island of Lanzarote boasts outstanding artisanal crafts and its unique gastronomy features superb products included in various designations of origin. There are also dozens of centres for art, culture and tourism.



The hotel’s younger guests were responsible for getting this space off the ground. The entertainment team showed the children how to sort paper and plastic waste and select the right bin so that we can all recycle at home. We have also provided an interactive whiteboard where visitors to the corner can post their ideas and tips. The children used it to leave their messages encouraging everyone to recycle on a daily basis.



The best thing about this project is that it will be extended to include all the company’s hotels. It is a magnificent opportunity to pass on our values and contribute to raising guests’ awareness of the fragility of the destinations they are staying in. It is essential that they appreciate and respect their culture and the environmental jewels that surround us.
