We work hard to ensure our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme includes lots of solidarity actions that help our planet and society.
The latest initiative we definitely wanted to be part of is the Cáritas Solidarity Room. Under the slogan “Rooms with a view to a better world”, this project aims to improve the lives of thousands of people in situations of poverty and exclusion.
What does it consist of?
The project consists of adding a new room to hotels, the income from which will be donated entirely to Cáritas.
Here at THB hotels we have decided to grant the honour of hosting this room to THB Gran Playa - the hotel with the longest history in the chain and the first to bear the initials “THB”. Situated in Can Picafort (Mallorca), this 4-star property will be the first in the group to include a Cáritas Solidarity Room in its accommodation offer.
The room is a double superior, the same as the others in the hotel. Yet this is a room with a difference, as the full rate for each booking will be dedicated to transforming the lives of many people.
Anyone wishing to book this room simply has to start the regular booking process. Once they have specified the dates on our booking engine, customers can select the room type they wish to book, and the options will include the Cáritas Solidarity Room (provided that there is availability).
Although here at THB hotels we are really excited about this initiative, it also generates some bittersweet sensations, as we continue to dream of a world where this type of actions are no longer necessary. However, while there are still people that need it, we will continue to take part in projects like this in order to achieve the social wellbeing we all wish for.
