As part of our drive to introduce improvements and boost efficiency, the facilities at the THB María Isabel on Mallorca and THB Royal on Lanzarote now feature gastronomy gardens.
What exactly do we mean by “gastronomy gardens”?
They are small kitchen gardens situated in the hotel grounds where fruit, vegetables and aromatic herbs are grown for everyday use in the hotels.
Here at THB hotels, we have always been aware that our activity takes place in prime locations. For this reason, the main objective of these gardens is to make the most of the excellent resources the climate offers to encourage the use of locally sourced produce and to become self-sufficient in some aspects of the hotels’ daily requirements.
Highlights of the produce grown at the THB María Isabel (Playa de Palma, Mallorca) include citrus fruits from our lemon and orange trees and aromatic herbs such as rosemary, thyme or mint.
In turn, the THB Royal (Playa Blanca, Lanzarote) stands in spectacular and spacious gardens, which are now also used to grow aromatic herbs and a selection of fruit and vegetables including strawberries and several varieties of tomato.
Guests at both hotels can now enjoy the produce grown in each of the kitchen gardens. In addition to self-supply, this initiative also enables us to maintain the excellent quality of our gastronomy and ensure our guests enjoy our services to the full.
