Wednesday, 25th September, saw the 8th edition of the Nit del Turisme (Tourism Night). Held in Menorca, this is an annual event organised by the Government of the Balearic Islands to recognise the efforts of tourism businesses and organisations that contribute to the development and promotion of the islands’ tourism industry. The ceremony was held at the Convent of San Diego, in Alaior, and was closed by the President of the Balearic Island government, Marga Prohens.

THB hotels received the award for Best Social Responsibility Initiative for its innovative dual training programme, THB College. The principal goal of this project is to promote training, drive employability, and create job opportunities for young people, creating a talent pool for the hospitality sector. THB College is a pioneering initiative that combines academic training with practical experience. Participants alternate between the theoretical education provided by experts at THB College and professional practice at the chain’s hotels. This allows them to acquire specialised knowledge and apply it directly to a real work environment, preparing them for a successful future in the tourism industry.

Several other awards were presented during the event in various categories, including Tourism Innovation, Tourism Experience, Best Professional Career, Young Talent and Tourism Sector Worker. Additionally, an honorary mention was given to Felipe Moreno in recognition of his outstanding contribution.

“All this has been possible thanks to the support of our president, Francisco Miralles, and our CEO, Miquel Miralles, for believing in projects that are more than just a business strategy: projects with soul that humanise companies. This award recognises the fabulous work of the entire team at the school. And, of course, we wish to thank the Government of the Balearic Islands for granting us this award, which motivates us to continue working on projects as amazing as this one,” explained Training Director Ana Zorita, speaking on behalf of THB hotels.
