At THB hotels we are increasingly aware of the need for corporate social responsibility and a firm commitment to caring for the environment.
In line with our environmental strategy for the next few years, we are turning our commitments into specific actions.
As we have already mentioned on several occasions, we are constantly working to reduce and eventually eliminate all single use plastics from our hotels and offices. Our aim is to contribute to reducing the plastic pollution that is so harmful for our oceans and marine flora and fauna.
Our concern for the state of our waters has led us to sign a collaboration agreement with the scientific organisation CEAMAR, responsible for implementing research, educational and dissemination projects for the conservation of cetaceans, sea turtles and their habitat.
Each time our guests request an additional towel wash, we donate the full amount charged to CEAMAR, thereby supporting their work to protect and conserve our seas and its species.
This organisation’s principal aim is to contribute to the overall conservation of the marine environment and in order to do so it has defined four priority action areas:
1. To conduct scientific research into cetaceans and their natural environment.
2. To promote scientific knowledge at a local, national and European level.
3. To participate in an active and direct manner with public and private organisations responsible for species and space management and ordinance.
4. To develop and implement actions and activities to raise awareness, disseminate and provide training in matters related to marine environment conservation.
