THB HOTELS MAKES A DONATION TO THE TURSIOPS ASSOCIATION FROM ITS BOXING DAY

Each year, here at THB hotels we launch a campaign to mark Boxing Day. The aim is to obtain donations for good causes of all kinds. In our case, we collaborate with the Tursiops Association as part of our drive to care for the environment.

So what is Tursiops? It is an association whose mission is to study cetaceans and the threats they face in our islands. Thanks to its ample trajectory (since 1998), the association has become a benchmark for the defence of the marine environment in the Balearic Islands.

Last December, we published the ‘BOXING DAY. BOXING SEA CARE’ campaign on our website at thbhotels.com, which included a 15% discount for anyone booking their 2023 holidays and getaways at any of our hotels. Five percent of the final amount from each booking would be donated to Tursiops, so this achievement is also partly thanks to you.

We are proud to announce that the donation amounted to a grand total of €6,658.50. The association has told us that all this money will be donated to a project set to be carried out in the first fortnight in August. Under the name ‘Mobymami’, the project is centred on studying and designing a special protection area for sperm whale calves in the north of Menorca.

On 10^th February, the cheque was officially handed over to Txema, a representative of the Tursiops Association during an event at the THB María Isabel Hotel in Playa de Palma (Mallorca). THB hotels can only thank the association for the excellent work it does and we are extremely proud to be able to make a small contribution to this excellent cause.

In 2023, we will continue to move towards the goals set for our ECO friendly project, driving sustainability and actively working to care for our planet. Our missions is to offer our customers a responsible and environmentally friendly holiday experience.
